DUNIN7 — status brief — v0.11

Version. 0.11 Date. 2026-08-03 Charter. standing-notes/dunin7-standing-authorization-charter-v0_1, ratified 2026-07-30. Author. Claude Code (execution session). Operator: Marvin Percival. Supersedes. v0.10 at record ad790f3. v0.9 at 931efe1, v0.8 at 1bfc9e5, v0.7 at 585742d, v0.6 at 38a7014, v0.5 at 32182bf, v0.4 at 1ec5c2a, v0.2 at 40571cf, v0.1 at 602bd9c stand as siblings. v0.3 remains deliberately absent. Changes from v0.10. B-28 and B-7 are done. CR-2026-162 merged and tagged in both repositories. One Checkpoint A item was not performed and is named rather than claimed.

1. What landed

Engine (loomworks-engine)

main at ffc29af, tag discovery-source-mode-v0_1, push-verified. Previous main a6a3ed6. Three commits: the two literals, the tests, the notes. 1 failed / 3467 passed / 68 skipped — the baseline failure set exactly.

Operator Layer (loomworks)

main at 50252e1, tag render-flow-v0_1, push-verified. Previous main 7e81e30. Five commits: the adapter, the Download control, the recency display, the tests, the notes. 639 passed / 0 failed / exit 1 on the twelve baseline rejections.

Neither is deployed. F-1.

2. B-28 — the contribution was written, then undone

text/markdown is registered to the discovery-to-seed skill, which emits source_mode="discovery"; the assertion schema allowed only text/voice/pdf/image. The assertion was written and the response built after it, so response validation failed and get_db_session rolled the write back. The person's work was lost; their bytes were not — the uploaded file commits in an earlier request, so the same file_id re-contributes now.

Two declarations changed, not four. The upload-side pair was left alone on evidence: a discovery extraction cannot reach it. Widening it would have been the same defect in the other direction — declaring a value a path cannot produce, which is exactly what the text member already is: allowed, emitted by nobody, and half of why the literal looked complete.

One test is general rather than specific: every mode the registry advertises must be accepted by the assertion schema. A future skill with a new mode now fails there instead of writing an assertion and rolling it back.

3. B-7 — one half was a wire; the other inverted

Download. The engine has served the route all along, converting format on the way out. The room's own comment recorded that no button was built because there was no route to call. It appears on populated reads only, is never disabled, and is offered even where View is not.

Currency. The engine has no superseded render — producing one never retires another. B-7's second half rested on a premise the substrate does not carry, so the room displays recency: when each output was produced, and where it sits in its own type's sequence. display_number is labelled "#N of its type", because unlabelled it reads as a rank across the room — the verdict again, wearing a number.

A test fails if any render is ever marked as the current one. It is the only thing standing between this room and the marker four CR versions planned to build.

4. Reported, not smoothed

A §4.2 deviation. The CR said to add the new adapter to WIRE_BOUNDARY_FILES. It needs no exemption — it projects no wire shape, and the wall passes with the file present and unexempted, verified directly. Adding one would exempt a file that needs none. Recorded in the commit and the notes.

The adapter's own comment tripped the wall. Its first draft spelled out the walled tokens in order to say they were absent. A comment about forbidden vocabulary is still scanned as vocabulary.

renderSub was left dead by the new sub line and is removed.

A Checkpoint A item was not performed. The CR requires a live dev-server pass showing a Markdown contribution accepted, a render downloaded, and two renders side by side with neither presented as current. I did not run it. The remaining session budget covered either that or a correct Checkpoint B, and leaving two repositories with unmerged branches was the worse outcome. Named under A-6 rather than claimed. The component tests cover all three behaviours; what is missing is browser confirmation.

5. The CR's own arc

Eight versions, five pre-flight halts, one execution halt. The execution halt was Step 0's determination 2, which inverted B-7's second half. The five filing halts were a single recurring failure the document eventually diagnosed itself: a false claim (§2's "no engine file is edited") kept alive by an annotation that explained scope rather than stating it, so every sweep read it as commentary. v0.7 deleted the claim, which deleted the annotation; v0.8 deleted the last cross-reference pointing at it.

6. What is queued

  1. The live pass, from §4 — cheap to run and the only outstanding acceptance item.
  2. B-6, the Shaping room. Split out at D-1; needs its own Step 0 for the lifecycle, executors and async jobs.
  3. Q-13 — whether renders should have a current-marker at all, now informed by a shipped recency display.
  4. Q-11's remainder — whether contributed Markdown should route through seed extraction.
  5. B-9 — the provenance walk, unblocked since B-25.
  6. B-33 / B-34 — neither suite can report a clean run.

7. Decision queue

| # | Question | Default | Blocks | Proceeds regardless | |---|---|---|---|---| | Q-1 | B-16 — seed v0.13. Committing a seed version is an Operator act (F-3). | Commit as drafted once read. | Seed v0.13 only. | Everything. | | Q-3 | The engine baseline is not zero. | Stays red and recorded. | Only a zero-failure gate. | Everything. | | Q-10 | Do ephemeral agent identities belong in the record? | Own build-list item. | Nothing. | Everything. | | Q-13 | Do renders need a current-marker? Now answerable against a shipped recency display rather than a guess. | Leave as is; the substrate declines the judgement deliberately. | Nothing. | Everything. |

Batched Operator acts: F-1 deployment, now covering five merges — CR-2026-159, -160, -161 and both halves of -162.

8. Charter compliance

R-2 across two repositories for the first time. Separate branches, separate commit series, separate merges, separate tags. No commit spanned both. The branch was checked before the first commit in each.

C-1 observed twice, once per repository: fetch and HEAD re-verified immediately before, clean index, --no-ff, one session per repo.

R-4 held. Suites ran against playground_test; playground_dev was never connected to.

A-6 invoked once, for the live pass — the boundary is named in §4 rather than papered over.

F-1 respected: merged is not deployed.
