This README orients readers — human and agent — to the Loomworks brand artifacts in this project. It is the first file to read; it points at the others.
| File | What it is | When to use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| loomworks-design-md-v0_1.md | DESIGN.md-format token source. Machine-consumable. ~26 KB. | Building any UI — components, surfaces, anything that needs colors, typography, spacing, or component tokens. The default first reference for any agent. |
| loomworks-logo-system-v0_1.html | Logo specification. Foundry wordmark + stamp mark, full geometry. ~76 KB. | Whenever the mark is placed: favicons, mastheads, footers, signatures. Agents retrieve SVG geometry from here rather than reinventing. |
| loomworks-brand-guide-v0_15.html | Full human-readable brand guide. Eight parts: identity, composed contexts, reference gallery, color, spacing, additional components, mobile, motion. ~150 KB. | New surfaces, brand extensions, system reviews, onboarding new collaborators. Carries the Discovery records that explain why decisions are what they are. |
Where the three files overlap (color tokens, spacing scale, typography), DESIGN.md is normative. The brand guide v0.15 is normative for prose rationale, composed contexts, voice, motion, and Discovery records. The logo system document is normative for mark geometry.
If a discrepancy is found between the files, treat the most recent version as canonical and raise the discrepancy as a finding rather than working around it silently.
The three files above are the settled outputs of an extended branding exploration. Iteration history — earlier brand-guide versions (v0.1 through v0.14), wordmark studies (v0.1 through v0.5), logo-correction work, brand-reconsideration versions, and the applied-surfaces sketch — lives in the separate Loomworks branding-exploration project alongside the handoff document loomworks-branding-exploration-handoff-v0_1.md.
Anyone needing the walk-back (why the mark looks the way it does, what alternatives were considered and set aside, why a particular decision landed where it did beyond what the Discovery records in v0.15 capture) should consult that project. The iteration files are deliberately not maintained here, to keep the main project uncluttered with material relevant only to brand archaeology.
This README's own version increments when the set of files changes — a file is added, removed, or replaced with a new version. Each individual file carries its own version per the standard DUNIN7 versioning discipline; this README only tracks the set, not the contents.
